Burton Latimer Medical Centre Location and Hours
Burton Latimer is a small industrial town in Northamptonshire, England, just over 3 miles (4.8 km) south of Kettering and 4.5 miles (7 km) north of Wellingborough. In the 19th century it was a busy ironstone quarrying, clothing and shoe town. Its growth was helped by the building of the railway and its location between Wellingborough, Corby and Rothwell. The town is home to the Weetabix food company, Shield aluminium and several group undertakings. There is also a Morrisons distribution centre.
It has a town council with 12 members and a mayor and deputy mayor. It is governed by North Northamptonshire Council after the abolition of borough and district councils in the county.
There are several churches in the town, including St Mary’s Church, and there is a public hall. Other facilities include a swimming pool, library, bowls club and a tennis club. Burton Latimer is also home to a non-league football team, Burton Park Wanderers FC. The town is served by a number of bus routes, which run to and from Kettering and Wellingborough. In 2021 the town was named a ‘Growing Place’, an accolade awarded by the government for its economic and social progress.
